FOR “UNITED WE SOCK” AN INTERDISCIPLINARY PERFORMANCE AT GOVERNORS ISLAND AS PART OF FIGMENT.
JUNE 9TH & 10TH, 2012
Monica with MoveSchemer is looking for participants for United We Sock (click on link to learn more about the project), an interdisciplinary performance that includes dance and spoken-word poetry.
DANCERS/PERFORMERS: With various levels of experience in modern/improv/contemporary dance. ALL AGES, ALL SIZES. As a dancer you will be learning a modern dance choreography and will have the opportunity to perform it and variations of within the performance. Extensive dance training is not necessary to participate.
READERS: Poets, singers, readers; people interested in art as an outlet with all levels of experience. As a reader/ performer you will be reading an excerpt of your work within a performance.
SCHEDULE:
Shows (ONE AT LEAST IS REQUIRED): June 9th and 10th – Time commitment 11am to 5pm. Snacks will be provided.

There is no monetary compensation. However, you will be exposed to a great deal of networking opportunities and exposure as Figment includes over 30 different multidisciplinary works. Remember, the more you perform the more people you’ll get to meet, and the more you will be showcased!
